aishwarya in for rajnikanth s movie robot
Finally, Bollywood stunner Aishwarya Rai has confirmed that she would be acting opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikant in Shankar’s film Robot .
For so many weeks and months, there has been speculation whether Ash will give her nod to Shankar for his next big budget film. She knows the director from the days when she first worked with him in the 1998 flick titled ‘Jeans’. And Shankar has not kept secret his desire to work with Ash in ‘Robot’.
Now, in a television interview, when Ash was told that Shankar has confirmed her presence in the film, she sounded excited and said she was looking forward to the project.
“They (Rajnikant and Shankar) are super entertainers, independently and together…Recently he (Shankar) approached me and gave me the narration and I was like, ‘you know, we could work this out, I’m still working on my dates’. But if Shankar has confirmed, then it’s cool. We will be on board,” Ash said in an interview to CNN-IBN.
Speaking about her co-star, the sensational Rajnikant, Aishwarya said: “He is super-fascinating and intriguing to his audience. You can’t but just be fascinated by this phenomenon called Rajni sir. His audiences totally love him. And he is such a wonderful human being…I am glad and privileged to be working with him.”
Reportedly, Aishwarya has been offered a price that is allegedly the highest ever price paid to an actress in a Rajnikant film.
However, Ash denied this and said it (the acting fee) is not as much as speculated.

Producer Rohan Sippy's film directed by Sriram, which is supposed to bring the never-before pair of John Abraham and Aishwarya Rai, is awaiting the leading lady's approval. Though the shooting for the untitled love story has commenced with John, Aishwarya's nod is still awaited. The only reason why she hasn't given the green signal is because the director hasn't shown her the script yet.
Says a source close to the project, "Ash has always been very close to producer Rohan Sippy. After all she met Abhishek on the sets of his Kuch Na Kaho. Since then she and Rohan have always been close. When this project came up, Aishwarya's dates were a problem. Rohan flew down to Boston, where she was shooting for Pink Panther, to convince her. Touched by Rohan's sincerity, she immediately said yes. However, she made it clear that she would like to see the script."
